Nougat, polvorones and marzipans become the protagonists of our table during Christmas. However, nothing prevents us from betting on other proposals in order to complement or replace the classic sweets. The snowy cookies butter and walnut, are our latest temptation.
The gbutter fillets as these are irresistible; Who resists walking past the tray without trying one? Being coated in icing sugar gives them a very Christmas appearance. As for the interior ... the combination of butter and walnut gives them a soft and crunchy texture at the same time.
- 1 cup butter, softened
- ½ cup icing sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of crushed walnuts
- 1 cup of icing sugar to coat
- We preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- We beat the butter until creamy and then add the sugar, salt, vanilla and flour and mix well.
- We incorporate the walnuts and mix until integrated.
- We catch small portions of dough (about the size of a walnut) and shape into a ball.
- We place them on the baking tray, lineda with greaseproof paper, leaving a distance between one and the other of 2 cm. approximately.
- Bake between 12 and 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for 3 to 4 minutes. Then we do them roll on sugar icing to coat them.
- We let them cool completely and We batter them in sugar again.
