Baked croque-monsieur sandwich
The croque-monsieur It is a sandwich made with sliced bread, cooked ham and cheese, usually Emmental or Gruyère, gratin. A common sandwich on French cafe and bar menus since it first appeared in 1910. Perfect as an aperitif or dinner.
We can prepare it without difficulties at home since its ingredients are simple. Now, the version that we have made of this Croque Monsieur needs to be prepared in advance. Requires rest in the fridge, so it is not suitable for impromptu dinners. The egg and cheese add creaminess to the sandwich, so the result is juicy.

We spread the slices of bread on one side with mustard.
We assemble the sandwiches placing in this order: bread, cheese, ham, cheese and bread.
We cut the sandwidch in the shape of a triangle and arrange them in a baking dish. It is preferable that there is not much space in the source.
We beat the eggs with the milk and salt and we pour the mixture over the sandwiches, so that they are soaked.
We cover the source with plastic wrap and the we take to the fridge where we will let it reporate until the next day.
Once rested and before dinner, we preheat the oven to 200º and we remove the source from the refrigerator.
We remove the fim paper and pour the Worcestershire sauce over the sandwiches evenly and then the grated cheese.
Bake for 25 minutes and we serve.

They are beaten with the milk and if they pour over the sandwiches.
The recipe seems easy and rich to me ... but this sauce is not known here in my country: Worcestershire ?? If I want to make this recipe, how do I do it? Or what sauce can I substitute for? Thanks
It is also known as English sauce or Perrins; It is made from molasses, corn syrup, water, vinegar, paprika, soy sauce, anchovies, onions, tamarind, garlic and cloves. Replacing it with a similar one is complicated; You can always try tomato and add some crushed anchovies and a touch of spice.
