Chocolate dipped apples

Chocolate dipped apples

The recipe that I bring you now is dedicated to the smallest of the house, especially for those who find it difficult to eat fruit, although surely everyone will want to try in the end, including adults !. This is the classic chocolate dipped apple, dessert easy and with assured success.

Difficulty level: Easy

Preparation time: Between 10 and 40 minutes, depending on whether they are baked or not

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple per person
  • Sugar to taste (optional)
  • Cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons of butter
  • 2 teaspoons nocilla (you can serve nutella or any other cocoa cream)
  • Half a chocolate bar
  • Colored sticks to decorate
  • Wooden skewers to nail them

Preparation:

We peel the apples (this step is optional) and put them on the baking tray sprinkled with sugar to taste and a pinch of cinnamon. They can be left raw if desired, but this time they are roasted because they were also going to be eaten by babies just over a year old and that way they were easier to bite into, because they are softer.

During baking we check how they are going and take them out when they are to our liking, taking into account that they should not be too soft because then they break. While they cool, we prepare the chocolate with which we are going to cover them.

Chocolate dipped apples

In a saucepan add the half chocolate bar, the teaspoons of nocilla and the teaspoons of butter. We stir over low heat until everything is well melted and mixed. Then we cover the apples with the chocolate, you can use a spoon or a pastry brush. Then they are sprinkled with the colored sticks to decorate them and voila! When they finish cooling we stick the stick in them And let's eat!

When serving ...

If very young children are going to eat it, you can stick two sticks instead of one, so they grab it with both hands and hold it more tightly to bite.

Recipe suggestions:

  • Instead of milk chocolate you can use white or caramel chocolate.
  • If you don't want to use apple, try doing it with another fruit, for example, strawberries.
  • If you want to treat yourself but are on a diet, try doing it with low-calorie butter and chocolate, also try to make the chocolate layer as thin as possible, enough to take away the craving and enjoy at the same time.
  • As we saw earlier, they can be left raw instead of roasted.

The best…

They keep very well for 2-3 days in the fridge and children love it, a simple way to make them eat fruit.

Yes, they can go with the shell. In my case they go without them because very young children were going to eat them, but there is no problem in leaving the shell on them.
