Today I bring you this delicious and simple vegetable cake, a quick dish to prepare and perfect for any occasion. Despite being a cold dish associated with summer, this cold cake is ideal to serve as a first course. Especially when we talk about occasions when hearty food will be served afterwards, such as Christmas lunches or dinners.

One of the many advantages of this vegetable cake is that it can be modified according to tastes and needs. This is the basic recipe, but different ingredients can be added to suit any occasion. For example, you can add cooked prawns, crab surimi, anchovies, olives, etc. Even if we add protein it can become a unique dish, for example, putting slices of cheese and cooked ham. Do not hesitate to try this delicious cake, you will surely repeat.

Ingredients
  • 12 slices of white sliced ​​bread without crust
  • 3 cans of natural tuna
  • 2 tomates
  • 3 eggs
  • iceberg lettuce
  • Carrots 3
  • Mayonnaise

Preparation
  1. We can use a rectangular or square mold, preferably made of glass.
  2. First we place a wide sheet of aluminum foil, there must be enough paper left to cover the cake later.
  3. To start, we put water and the 3 eggs in a saucepan and cook for about 15 minutes.
  4. Now, we are placing slices of bread, if it is square we will need about four.
  5. We are going to flatten a little with our hands, so that they are more compact and we reserve.
  6. We drain the tuna cans well and in a plate, we mix with mayonnaise to taste.
  7. Cut the lettuce into julienne strips and drain the water well after washing the lettuce well.
  8. We laminate the sliced ​​tomatoes as finely as possible.
  9. We peel, wash and grate the carrots.
  10. Once the eggs are tempered, we cut them into slices.
  11. Now we are going to assemble the cake, in the first layer that we already have prepared, we spread a thin layer of mayonnaise.
  12. We place the tomato slices, the julienned lettuce, half of the grated carrots and the hard-boiled egg slices.
  13. Next, we put 4 slices of bread and carefully flatten the whole cake a little.
  14. In this layer, we put the tuna mixture with mayonnaise and spread well.
  15. We finish by placing another mold bread base and flatten.
  16. Cover well with the excess aluminum foil, place two milk cartons on top to press down and place in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  17. After that time, we unmold on the source in which we are going to serve the cake.
  18. We decorate it by spreading mayonnaise on all sides and place grated carrot, lettuce and the desired ingredients on top.
