Spanish omelette, traditional recipe

Spanish tortilla

Hello girls! Today I bring you the most traditional recipe within the gastronomy of our country, the Spanish tortilla. Without a doubt, it is one of the most popular recipes within any Spanish home or any Spanish family residing outside of this country. In addition, we can find it in any restaurant or bar as pintxo or starters.

This Spanish potato omlette It is one of the simplest recipes, as they contain basic ingredients that we always have at home, but with a high flavor content.

Ingredients

For 4 people:

  • 1 kg of potatoes.
  • 1 small onion.
  • 1 medium green bell pepper.
  • 5 eggs.
  • Oil.
  • Salt

Preparation

First, we will peel, wash and cut the potato in small cubes to later be able to fry them without any difficulty. When we have all the potatoes cut in this way, we will put about 3-4 cm of oil in a frying pan or fryer, and we will begin to fry them. We will have to do this in several batches, so, when they are fried, reserve them in a container with absorbent paper so that it sucks up all the oil.

Then we will peel the onion and we will cut it into small pieces so that later it is not noticeable. We will do the same with the pepper. When everything is cut, we will put a little oil in a pan and fry it a little until the onion changes a little color and the pepper is tender.

Then, we will mix the fried potatoes with the onion and the pepper in a bowl. Later, we will adding the 5 eggs, until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Later, in the same oil where we have fried the onion and the pepper, we will put a tablespoon of olive oil, and we will dump the previous mixture. We move the pan and stir at the same time with a trowel, so that the ingredients are spread throughout the pan and thus or all distributed in the Spanish tortilla.

Finally, when we see that it has set, we will turn it over with a large flat plate, and let it cook for another few minutes on the other side and… that's it !. Now it's time to enjoy our famous Spanish tortilla.

Hello good day! here in Spain it is not accompanied with anything, since it is very forceful. Just with a little mayonnaise or aioli. If you want another dish besides this one, I recommend a salad, because with only 2 pieces of tortilla you are satisfied que Thank you for following us!
