Palmeritas De Hojaldre

The puff pastry chips are ideal for a snack. As they are so simple to prepare, you can make them at any time since it is very likely that you have the ingredients in the fridge even if you have not planned it.

  • 1 rectangular puff pastry
  • sugar
  • butter
  • miel

Crafting
We preheat the oven to 200º. We spread the puff pastry without removing the paper in which it was rolled, we pass the roller to make it very thin. Then we spread it with a thin layer of butter and sprinkle with plenty of sugar.
We make a mark in the middle of the dough, and begin to roll it on each side until both rolls meet in the center.
We cut the dough at the ends so that they are even.
Then we transfer the rolled dough to a board and cut it into 1 cm portions with a sharp knife.
Finally we arrange the palmeritas in a roasting pan covered with baking paper, we must be careful to leave space between one and the other, because when they are cooked they increase in size. We paint them using a brush, with warm honey, if it is too thick, reduce it with a few drops of water. We take them to the oven, and when they are golden on one side we turn them over, and paint with honey again.
We continue to bake them for a few more minutes until they are well browned. When you take them out, they will still be a little soft, but on cooling they become crispy. While you can go preparing the coffee!
