Homemade prawn croquettes and sea sticks

Shrimp croquettes and sea sticks

Croquettes are a food that kids love, but they are almost always made with chicken or ham, leftover from the typical grandmother's stew. That is why today I give you a new idea to make this typical recipe as a tapa or dinner.

These croquettes are made with prawns, sea sticks and béchamel. All of it, leftover from previous recipes, so I show you again that nothing is wasted in the kitchen, there are always new dishes to be made with the leftovers from other recipes.

Ingredients

  • 12-15 peeled and cooked prawns.
  • 5-8 sea trunks.
  • 1/4 onion.
  • Flour.
  • Milk.
  • Olive oil.
  • Salt

For batter:

  • Flour.
  • I beaten egg.
  • Bread crumbs.

Preparation

Firstly, we will sting in very small cubes the onion, the prawns and the sea sticks. These should be small so that children do not notice pieces that are too large to make them take them out of their mouths and not want to eat more.

In a frying pan, we will heat a good base of olive oil, to which we will add the chopped onion. When it is poached, we will add the prawns and sea sticks. We will mix well, lower the heat and let it cook for a few minutes.

Meanwhile, in a saucepan we go making the bechamel. We will put a background of olive oil, when it is hot we will add a tablespoon of flour, sauté well and incorporate the milk little by little, stirring well with a few rods so that no lumps are made. This béchamel must be thick so that it later takes on consistency and forms a croquette.

Then, when the béchamel is done, we will pour the poached onion, the prawns and the sea sticks into it. We will mix everything well and pass it to a source so that our seafood croquettes dough.

Finally, it only remains to give the typical shape of croquettes and pass them through flour, egg and breadcrumbs, and fry them in plenty of olive or sunflower oil. I hope you like them.
