Today we prepare some classic meatballs to the planter. It is a very complete dish in which meats and vegetables are combined and that at home we usually serve as a single dish along with a green salad and / or a cup of rice. The meatballs are very tender and the sauce is delicious! You will not be able to stop spreading. If you have any left over, put it with some eggs for dinner one night.

Ingredients
  • For the meatballs
  • 600 g. minced meat (mixture of beef and pork)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons of milk
  • Flour to coat
  • 2 eggs for coating, beaten
  • Olive oil for frying

  • Pepper
  • For the sauce
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1 medium carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small pot of canned peas
  • 1 cup of tomato puree
  • Olive oil
  • Sal Island

Preparation
  1. We prepare the dough for the meatballs mixing the meat with the onion, garlic, breadcrumbs and milk. Salt and pepper and mix again.
  2. We shape the meatballs and we go through beaten egg and flour.
  3. After we fry them in a frying pan with hot oil. Once fried, we remove them to a tray with absorbent paper. We booked.
  4. We begin to prepare the sauce putting a bottom of oil in a low saucepan. When it is hot, add the onion and carrot and cook over low heat until the onion changes color.
  5. Then, we add the peppers and the garlic and cook a few minutes until the pepper is tender.
  6. Add a little water and cook the vegetables at simmer for 15 minutes. After that time, we add the fried tomato and the peas and continue cooking the mixture for another 10 minutes.
  7. We taste the sauce, season and add more water if necessary. Once you have the desired flavor and texture, we place the meatballs in the garden sauce and let them cook with the lid on for 15 minutes.
