Fritters

Fritters, Lent season is approaching and the wind fritters cannot be missing. These fritters are the classics, since now we can find them filled with cream, chocolate, jams... There are also cocoa, orange flavored.

But they are very simple to prepare so we can make them at home, they are very good, rich and fluffy. You can put the flavor you like, I just put a splash of anise, which are the typical ones.

  • 500 ml. sunflower oil
  • Sugar to coat the fritters

Preparation
  1. To make the buñuelos de viento we will start by putting a saucepan on the fire with the milk, water and butter. While the saucepan is heating, take a bowl and mix the flour with the yeast and a pinch of salt.
  2. We will stir the saucepan, when it is mixed we will add the flour all at once, stir until the dough comes off the walls of the saucepan. Remove from the heat, add the tablespoons of anise, stir and let stand for 5 minutes.
  3. We will start by adding an egg, stir until it is well integrated into the dough, add the next and mix well again. For the dough to be more consistent, it is better to let the dough rest for 1-2 hours.
  4. We put a pan with the sunflower oil to heat, we will put it over medium heat. When it is hot with the help of two spoons we will take dough and form balls and we will add them to the hot oil. We will be doing it in small batches.
  5. We will let the fritters brown on all sides. We will take them out and leave them on absorbent paper. Before they cool, we will pass them through sugar.
  6. As we coat them in sugar, we will place them on a serving tray.
