French toast with red wine, a very popular sweet that is consumed at Easter. The torrijas consists of taking bread from a few days, passing them through milk and egg and frying, they are very good and juicy.

The typical ones are those of milk and cinnamon and also those of red wine. Now they are made in many ways and flavors, but no matter how they are made the torrijas are very good and are ideal for a dessert.

Ingredients
  • 1 loaf of bread for torrijas (better from the day before)
  • 3-4 eggs
  • 1 lemon rind
  • 1 liter of red wine
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1-2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 250 gr. sugar
  • 1 small glass of water
  • 1 large glass of sunflower oil

Preparation
  1. To make the torrijas with red wine, first we will put the red wine to cook with the cinnamon stick, a piece of lemon peel, 100 gr. of sugar and a small glass of water.
  2. Let it cook for about 15 minutes over medium-high heat, turn it off and let it cool.
  3. We put the eggs in a wide dish, in another we put the red wine.
  4. We cut the bread slices of about 2 cm., We put them in the red wine, we let them soak until they are well soaked.
  5. In a plate we will put the rest of the sugar and a little cinnamon powder.
  6. We put a frying pan with plenty of oil to heat, when we will start to fry the torrijas.
  7. We will carefully remove them from the wine, pass them through the egg and fry them in the pan, leave them until golden brown on both sides.
  8. We take them out, put them on a plate where we will have them with kitchen paper, so that they absorb the oil.
  9. Then we pass them through the sugar and cinnamon and they will be ready
