Cuba style rice

There are few dishes tastier than a good Cuban rice!

Complete (and cheap!, Which is appreciated more every day) where they exist.

This time I have made it with cheese sausages, although I also like it a lot with butcher sausages. We can accompany it with fried plantain, which gives it a more "Cuban" flavor (in fact it is the original recipe).

Ingredients (for two):

  • A glass of rice
  • 1 2/3 glass of water
  • avecrem
  • oil
  • eggs
  • sausages
  • bacon

       For the tomato sauce:

  • Crushed tomato
  • oregano
  • pepper
  • basil

We heat a frying pan with a few tablespoons of oil, when it is hot, we add the crushed tomato and spices. We cook for about 20 minutes. Is important that the fire is not too strong, since everything will come out, you have to let it cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. We booked.

For the rice, we put a drizzle of oil and a garlic (cut in half) in a pot. Brown the garlic and add the rice. Sauté the uncooked rice a little, and add the water (approximately for every two measures of rice, three of water). Cook for about 15 minutes with the pot covered (leaving a small hole uncovered) and after this time let the rice rest for another 10 minutes.

We fry sausages and bacon.

We fry the eggs.

We serve everything… and we enjoy one of the best recipes of our gastronomy.
