Smoothie with oat flakes, banana and cocoa

Smoothie with oat flakes, banana and cocoa

This smoothie of oatmeal, banana and cocoa flakes seems to me a great alternative as breakfast or snack. It is a vegan shake that I have prepared with a vegetable almond drink and it is a bit more complete than a traditional fruit smoothie when adding oatmeal to the ingredient list.

In order for the oatmeal to "cook", it is best to leave it with the milk in the fridge for a few hours before taking it. And then add the rest of the ingredients. When the heat tightens, as has happened this week, you can take it very cool, fresh out of the fridge. And when the temperatures begin to drop, enjoy it at room temperature or even warm it up.

Ingredients
  • 2 generous tablespoons rolled oats
  • 220 ml of almond drink
  • 1 ripe banana
  • Dates
  • 1 teaspoon of cocoa

Preparation
  1. A few hours before serving the shake, put the oat flakes and the almond drink in the blender glass. We cover it and we reserve in the fridge. You can leave it overnight without problems to prepare it for breakfast.
  2. We take out of the fridge and we incorporate the banana chopped (you can add it frozen if you want a very cold shake), the pious dates and the cocoa. We beat until obtaining a homogeneous drink.
  3. We serve the shake of rolled oats, banana and fresh cocoa.
