Artichokes In Sauce

Artichokes in sauce, a very healthy dish. A delicious different dish, we always prepare cooked or baked artichokes, but they can be made in many ways, and they accompany very well with many dishes. In sauce they are very good and if you put a little bit of hot paprika they will be very good.

Artichokes in sauce is a simple dish that can be prepared in a short time. Now that they are in their best season is when they are good and tender. So you have to take advantage of the season.

Ingredients
  • 4-6 artichokes
  • 2 garlic
  • ½ teaspoon sweet or hot paprika
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce
  • Lemons
  • Salt, Oil and Pepper
  • A bite: toasted almonds and fried bread.
  • Parsley

Preparation
  1. First we will clean the artichokes.
  2. We will remove the hardest leaves of the artichokes, we will rub them with half a lemon.
  3. We will cut the artichokes into quarters and put them in a bowl with water and a few pieces of lemon. If you have parsley, we will put some sprigs in the water.
  4. In a saucepan, put 2 tablespoons of oil, add the minced garlic, the two tablespoons of fried tomato, a splash of lemon juice and the paprika, add the artichokes and a glass of water.
  5. We let it cook until we see that the artichokes are. If it stays very dry we will add a little water.
  6. On the other hand we prepare the picada with a handful of almonds and a piece of fried bread.
  7. We will add it to the casserole with a little chopped parsley, we will leave it until the sauce thickens.
  8. We will try salt, if we like it thicker or we do not like the bite, we can add a little flour to thicken it.
  9. We can already serve them in a source.
  10. And ready to eat !!!
